Helix is not a language model that talks about canine reproduction. It is a scientific retrieval engine grounded in a versioned editorial catalogue, supervised by a veterinarian. Every answer emerges from a visible pipeline.
How a Helix answer is born.
Six steps, all traceable, all public. No black box.
1. Knowledge Objects (SKO)
Every scientific concept is atomised into a Scientific Knowledge Object: small, versioned, cited. An SKO never contains synthesis without a source.
2. Primary literature
Every SKO is grounded in indexed peer-reviewed publications and guidelines from recognised societies. Primary literature is the source, not decoration.
3. Editorial consensus
On topics where the literature diverges, the editorial board publishes a consensus position: it states where there is agreement and where there is disagreement, without hiding uncertainty.
4. Editorial review
Every SKO goes through internal peer review before publication. Each version carries the name of the responsible Associate Editor and the review date.
5. Grounded AI retrieval
Helix does not generate free-form content. It retrieves passages from validated SKOs via retrieval-augmented generation and composes an answer that carries its provenance with it.
6. Final answer
The answer arrives with clickable citations to the source SKOs, the declared evidence level, and — when needed — the explicit note: “I don't know, this is not in the catalogue.”

We are not building a veterinary ChatGPT, nor a Wikipedia of canine reproduction. We are building something much narrower — and precisely for that reason, more trustworthy.

Does not diagnose
Helix does not diagnose individual animals. Diagnosis remains with the veterinarian in charge of the patient.

Helix does not prescribe medications or dosages for specific patients.
Does not improvise
Outside the editorial catalogue, Helix refuses to answer. It prefers silence to error.
Does not do telemedicine
Helix is not a veterinary telemedicine service and does not offer emergency support.
